Children of the 70's and early 80's should be called the Star Wars Generation for the defining cultural icon that is the Star Wars Saga.

As a child I went as C-3PO, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader (all store-bought cheap vinyl costumes), indignantly correcting a woman who complimented my "werewolf" Chewbacca costume. As an adult, I had never really considered doing a Star Wars costume until the eve of Episode II's premiere, whereupon I realized that a midnight showing would demand a suitable costume--and after all, Episode II would be the next-to-last Star Wars film ever I could attend in theaters!

I had toyed with the idea of a stormtrooper costume--certainly the most distinctive (next to Vader) costume from the films--but Stormtrooper costumes are either expensive or rather difficult to make--not something to be done in the few days I had leading up to the premiere.
