John's Photography : Pets & Animals

John's Pet Photography

I've always had pets as a part of my life, and as such, my animal companions have been a constant subject of photography.

Didi's Days at the Beach

Didi accompanied us to Crescent Beach for a brief trip to celebrate Beth's mom's birthday in 2005. I took this photo with my pocket-sized S500 and later Photoshopped out her leash.

Portraits of the Dingoes

For Christmas '05, I wanted to give my wife Beth professional-quality portraits of her three dachshunds. Fortunately, I already had suitable photos for two of them on hand--Agi from one of her many shots I took for use on our "Save the Date" wedding announcement cards, and Geronimo from a random shot taken earlier in the year. Ziggy's was trickier to catch, as most of my older photos of him suffered from canine "yellow eye" and "green eye" and were frequently overexposed... and at the age of 16, Ziggy was difficult to pose for a proper shot. Fortunately, I found him asleep on Christmas Eve to take the photo below.
