Websites from Work
The following represent a portion of the websites that I have contributed significantly to through work (those accessible to the public, anyway). Usually I did the coding responsible for making the sites work, happily leaving the graphics to our company's artists.

Gardening123.com
Gardening123 is one of the few garden resources still available on the web today (after the scandal-filled folding of Garden.com). I am responsible for about 75% of the code running the site, including the Garden Guide plant database, the e-commerce sections, recipes & articles sections, and the trivia game engine. |

PetDIETS is a veterinary nutrition website discussing the facts and myths of dog & cat nutrition and offering nutritional consultations and homemade diet formulations online. PetDIETS was the first website I did while working for IDD and only the third ASP site I had ever done (and in places it shows). Although others have modified portions of the site's administrative back-end while I've been on more detailed projects, I probably coded 95% of the site and also did the layouts and much of the content organization. |

PrincipalConnections.org
Principal Connections is a web site designed as the companion to a CD-ROM product we developed for AEL that helps school principals make informed technology decisions. Done mostly concurrently with PetDIETS, the data engine running the site is fairly similar to the one for PetDIETS. Again, I did around 95% of the original work for the site, although additional programmers may have revisited the project since. |

SmartSurvey (not available to the public)
I also did significant portions of an online survey tool (originally contracted with Hewlett-Packard), my first .NET project. The site allows administrators to create and administer complex online surveys; I coded the custom menu controls, permissions model, and a Windows Service that runs a series of customizabale reports on the survey data. I also coded many backbone elements of the administrative side of the site, including a page class containing formatting and configuration functions and parameters. |

Lowe's Gardening Kiosk (not available to the public)
Based on the Gardening123 code and database, I wrote about 65% of a gardening website delivered to Lowe's for online and in-store kiosks. A separate touchscreen version features the same content with a different look & feel.

Other Work-Related Sites
I have worked on a number of other sites while at IDD, including parts of Pechiney's employee evaluation tools, ACVN's online course engine, and an online calendaring system for the DOE. Work I did for Gardening123 has been used by Weather.com and Lowes.com.
While with Virginia Tech's Information Systems department, I coded two ASP-based sites: the Fastline online newsletter tools, and a tech-support visit scheduling and reporting tool.
