Travel : Trips

Trips

Anyone over the age of thirty remembers evenings held captive in a dimly-lit family room, subject to yet another seemingly-endless presentation of Uncle Bill's out-of-focus, finger-in-the-frame, ill-exposed slides. Perhaps even those lucky enough to have escaped said avuncular tedium or to have been born in an era where the slide projector has retired to a state of unpleasant anachronism can still glean the archetypal cultural memories.

With that said, I have little pretension regarding the audience of my trip reports and photography... but perhaps you'll enjoy the stories of my travels nonetheless.

Bahamas Trips

The Bahamas

I've traveled twice to the Bahamas, once with a friend and then again to propose to my now-fiancée Beth. Laid-back island life, wonderful weather, beautiful beaches ... rum and Coke in hand, boating the Abaco Sound, diving on coral reefs within sight of the beachhouse ...

England

Some people describe London as "New York but with funny accents." Personally, I enjoyed London much more than the Big Apple. My sisters and I traveled to England after their graduation from college, and with my carefully-crafted itenerary, we managed to take in just about everything possible: Stonehenge, the Tower of London, British Museum (among others), Bath, four West End shows ... overall, it was a fantastic trip.

Minneapolis / St. Paul (The Twin Cities)

I've been a Twins fan since around 1989 or so, but it wasn't until 2002 that I ventured to the Twin Cities to catch a game (and a lot more!) Minneapolis and St. Paul are the first big cities I've truly fallen in love with... if the winters weren't so darned cold, I'd be living there now!

St. Paul is the birthplace of Charles Schultz and also infamous for its Prohibition-era mobsters; hence the Snoopy with pinstripes and a "violin" case.
