Anime Cosplay
"Cosplay" is a term used mainly by us sci-fi, fantasy, and anime geeks to describe dressing up as our favorite characters and even role-playing as them short skits. Cosplay appeals to me because I've always loved Halloween and putting on a different persona, and I get to show off my skills at costuming as well.
Anime cosplay can be fairly difficult to create costumes for due to the extreme flexibility possible in a drawn medium, but at the same time many characters are extremely distinctive and enjoyable to re-create.
So far I've only created a handful of anime costumes, but as I expect to return to Nekocon and perhaps catch one or two more cons yearly, I will shortly be adding more costumes for each.

Hellsing Alucard and Seras Victoria Costumes
Worn: Nekocon 6
The sheer complexity of these two costumes kept me at my sewing machine and hard at work with tracing paper and pattern alterations for over a month solid. I think the end results are excellent, and though we didn't win the Hall Cosplay at Nekocon, I did have a set of Alucard fans who shouted out props during the awards--thanks, gals!
